I grew up in Maine, which meant that I pretty much never had to deal with stifling hot temperatures. When I moved to New York City, I suddenly understood what “too hot” was.
I learned that when it came to getting out of the heat in a concrete jungle, there are few places to escape other than air-conditioned apartments and too-crowded rooftop pools.
