It’s easy to forget sometimes how much we rely on our sight.
People whose conditions have left them blind or who were born blind have to use their other senses in order to make sense of the world around them. Those of us who can see know our loved ones’ faces intimately, which is what makes an experiment asking blind people to describe their family and friends to a sculptor that much more amazing. Pam, the sculptor, uses clay to carve detailed faces that are strikingly close to the real deal.
It’s actually amazing how their sense of touch translates into something so visually accurate.
