This Seems Like A Picture Of A Wedding Ring, But Wait Until You Take A Closer Look

When it comes to capturing some of the most unique wedding pictures in the world, photographer Peter Adams-Shawn’s approach is complex, but easy to describe: “I don’t just like to think outside the box. I live outside it.”

And his most well-known collections were born in the blink of an eye. The best artists see the world from a different angle, and the best photographers capture moments that would otherwise have gone unseen.

While working at a wedding in 2011, the photographer behind Memories of Tomorrow looked into the eyes of a bridesmaid as she watched the bride prepare for her big day. When he saw her reflection, he knew exactly what he needed to do. That’s how Adams-Shawn’s “Eyescapes” collection came to life.

Three years went by before he captured the next photo in that series, but one day in 2014, he realized that he could easily keep taking photos like these.

“That was the wedding where the penny dropped as to how I could do them easily. I then proceeded to do them at almost every other ceremony,” he explained to FunnyModo.

It goes without saying that the visual impact of these images strikes a chord with clients. In 2012, he began taking similar images with a little help from some rings. The resulting series fittingly came to be called “Ringscapes.”

While shooting a wedding one day, he set the rings down to take a photo as the couple huddled behind him to stay warm. That’s when he saw it.

“When I set the rings down, I saw the reflection,” he writes. “I quickly grabbed a flash and took the shot. After that, I was always on the lookout for opportunities.”

As time went on, he started taking more complex shots. In the artist’s words, “These days, a straight reflection is very easy to capture, relatively speaking, so I like trying more challenging compositions.”

Although it goes without saying, these photographs have attracted plenty of new clients. They’re so beautiful, in fact, that some viewers have a hard time believing they’re real.

But everything in these shots is the real deal, all the way down to the sun flares.

“My role on your special day is simple,” he writes. “It’s to capture your love for one another in awesome Memories of Tomorrow.”

As for what’s next, we should all keep our eyes peeled. According to Adams-Shawn, “I have a couple of things up my sleeve that I don’t think have been done before.”

The photographer, who is a dual national from England living in Australia, is in high demand in Perth and surrounding areas. Potential clients are encouraged to give at least a year’s notice if they want him to capture their very own Memories of Tomorrow, and it’s not hard to see why. When it comes to immortalizing life’s most important moments, he is an expert.
