In 1991, Detroit police received a call from a man claiming to have stabbed his pregnant wife multiple times.
By the time officers arrived at the home of Gregory Green, his wife, who was six months along, was already dead. He had just been waiting for them calmly, as if expecting a social visit.
The killer pleaded no contest to second-degree murder during his trial, and he ended up serving 16 years in prison, where he reportedly never showed remorse for what he had done. Unfortunately, police would answer another chilling phone call from this man only eight years after his release.
In 2008, Green got out of prison after completing a rehabilitation program. Even though he showed a lack of empathy the whole time he had been behind bars, he was still deemed ready to go back into the world.
After meeting a woman named Faith, he married her in 2010 and assumed a fatherly role for her daughter, Kara, and son, Chadney. The couple ended up having two more girls together, whom they named Koi and Kaleigh.
But everything was not well in the Green household — during their marriage, Faith applied for a personal protection order, claiming that her husband threatened her and was frequently violent.
After six years of this, Faith finally filed for divorce in August 2016 and served Green with divorce papers on Wednesday, September 21.
That same night, Detroit police got another call from Green. He told them that he had killed his entire family, and when officers arrived, he was sitting on the porch in the same disturbing manner he had 25 years earlier.
They quickly found a horrifying scene inside the house — all four of the children were dead. Green had killed five-year-old Koi and four-year-old Kaleigh by locking them inside of the family car and attaching a hose that funneled carbon monoxide inside. He then laid their bodies in their beds.
According to police, he had also forced their mother to watch as he shot 17-year-old Kara and 19-year-old Chadney execution-style.
Perhaps most gruesome of all, he then tied Faith up in the basement and cut her face and throat before shooting her in the foot and leaving her to die.
Fortunately, Faith was still alive when the police came. She was rushed to the hospital and was able to survive, but she will never get her children back.
Green was charged with four counts of first-degree murder, one count of torture, and one count of unlawful imprisonment as well as assault and possession of a firearm. He is currently being held in Wayne County and is due back in court on October 5.

It’s so heartbreaking to think that all of this could have been prevented if he had stayed in prison for the first murder. Our thoughts are with Faith as she deals with this unthinkable tragedy.
