Okay, I have to admit that I’m a little bit blown away by this. It’s art you can rest your eyes on, and then literally rest your body on, too!
Jongha Choi, a contextual design student from the Netherlands, took the phrase “art imitates life” to the next level for his master’s thesis project. He created some modern art wall hangings that, in and of themselves, are gorgeous.
But then he reaches into his creations, pulls them down off of the wall, and uses them as sturdy, functional furniture.
Seriously, one second it’s wall art…
…and the next, it’s real furniture. He calls it de-dimensional because it shifts from 2-D to 3-D.
