Ants, especially the ones who invade your home in the summer, are the absolute worst. Despite that fact, objectively, they’re scientifically fascinating. One unique characteristic of ants is their hive-mind-like mentality to approaching challenging situations like physical obstacles.
Recently, the Georgia Institute of Technology took a look at how ants behave in these situations…the results were pretty surprising.
Here they put a glob of ants onto some water.
This resemblance is freaky.
Here are the ants flowing down like a thick liquid.
That’s kinda gross.
