What just happened?!
In an unprecedented mistake during the Academy Awards on Sunday night, presenter and living legend Warren Beatty was given the wrong envelope when announcing the winner for Best Picture — and dubbed La La Land as the victor.

But after the film’s cast and crew took to the stage in excitement, it was quickly announced that it’d been a mistake, and that Moonlight was the actual winner of the prestigious award.

The latter film’s cast and crew then joined the La La Land team on stage, obviously in shock over the mix-up.
“Very clearly, even in my dreams this could not be true,” Moonlight director Barry Jenkins said. “But to hell with dreams. I’m done with it. This is true. Oh my goodness.”

Meanwhile, team La La Land could be seen consoling one another over the brutal mistake after the show was finished…
