Few moments are more terrifying than being caught in the middle of a natural disaster.
I can’t even imagine what it feels like to experience it firsthand, and I sincerely hope I never do.
Unfortunately for these people in Ellicott City, Maryland, though, the flood raging around them was a harsh reality from which they couldn’t escape. But instead of running away to find safer ground, a few people faced their fears and formed a human chain to rescue a woman who desperately needed their help.

Words can’t describe the bravery these people displayed during a time when it would have been easy to focus on themselves. Let’s all give them the standing ovation they deserve.
