Does central air give anyone else a headache? I don’t know about you, but I prefer a nice, natural breeze over the frigid gust of an air conditioner when summer rolls around.
Even though it leaves me feeling a little toastier than I would be if I decided to turn on the AC, I love opening up all the windows and listening to singing birds and laughing kiddos. The only problem with that is the fact that even with screens, flies make themselves at home. I don’t do bugs, friends. I cannot deal with bugs.
If you run into similar issues when the weather finally gets warm, this trick is for you!
First, you need an oven. I’m going to go ahead and assume that just about everyone has an oven, except for those tiny house people who I will never, ever understand.
Other than that, all you have to do is round up two or three lemons.
Slice each lemon in half and place the halves directly on the rack.
Before you go to bed, put lemons in the oven while it’s off and leave the door open. The next morning, close it and turn on the broiler. Don’t go setting them on fire. A few minutes is all you need! Turn it off again, let the inside cool, and toss the fruit. Your kitchen will smell great, and there won’t be a fly in sight!
Shove it, bugs. Take your nefarious schemes elsewhere.
