I don’t know about you, but I’m constantly amazed by the diversity of our planet.
It seems like every week I’m learning about another animal that I previously had no idea existed. Though it shouldn’t come as a surprise, seeing as there are over 15,000 new species reported every year, I’m still caught off guard by unfamiliar creatures that sometimes appear almost alien-like.
These friends definitely know what I mean. When they visited a beach in Queensland, Australia, they ran into something they just couldn’t identify. Its appearance was so strange that they wondered whether it was even from this planet.
I have to admit that it is pretty freaky looking.

However, it is actually a polychaete, or bristle worm. They can be found in the ocean at varying depths and are known to scavenge for food.
