Okay, Who Thought It Was A Good Idea To Open A Kalashnikov Store In An Airport?


It’s pretty safe to say that Russia is a land of extremes.

Judging by some of the wacky stories that make news over here in the States, Russians don’t do anything halfway. It’s all or nothing. However, as you might imagine, that tendency can go a little too far. Take, for example, the latest addition to the Sheremetyevo Airport in Moscow.

That stylish “K” stands for Kalashnikov, the legendary gunmaker of the AK-47 assault rifle.

Kalashnikov recently opened a store selling souvenirs in the busy airport, and it’s obviously causing a stir.

I’m not sure if I can think of a worse idea than walking around a busy airport with a replica assault weapon, but maybe that’s just me.

I don’t even care if they’re fake. I just have a bad feeling about this. All we can do is chalk it up to cultural difference, I guess.
