This is the dramatic moment a group of people rescued a terrified deer that had been caught up in raging flood waters.
The deer became stranded after heavy rain caused the Cedar River to overflow near Waterloo, Iowa. After the deer was seen struggling in the water, a Good Samaritan pulled on a life jacket and jumped into the fast-flowing river to save the distressed deer.
With the help of other kind strangers, he was able to tie a rope around the helpless animal and lift it to safety where it was dropped off in a place far from the river, where the poor deer would be safe.
While many other animals probably weren’t quite as lucky, it’s still heartwarming to see so many people working together to save even just one precious life. Well done to everyone involved!
