Christmas Eve is normally a day of celebration, good cheer, and a few presents. But for Julio, December 24, 2013, was anything but joyful.
In fact, it was one of the saddest days for the Florida man.
Like any other day, Julio let his Great Dane pup Duke out in his backyard. But unlike previous times, Duke managed to get out of the yard. When his dad went to let him back inside, the dog was nowhere to be found.
Julio spent months looking for his best friend, but after years went by, he had all but given up hope. That’s when he got a call from a random Texas man…
Duke had found himself more than 350 miles away from home. Watch as the big puppy sees his owner for the first time in years.
Good Samaritan David Walker came across Duke just hanging out at his ranch in a small town in Texas. He took the big pup to the vet where they scanned him for a microchip and that’s when this incredible reunion began to take shape.
While this occurrence feels partially like a miracle, it’s also a great reminder to all pet owners to get your best friend microchipped. You never know what could happen!
