Among the hundreds of depressing, negative stories that wash up on our social media feeds, there occasionally comes a story so heartwarming that it’s impossible not to crack a huge smile.
The latest comes to us from a kind-hearted young man named Hector Montez. He’s a student at Coronado High School in Lubbock, Texas, and over the past few years, the teenager has built a close relationship with his teacher and football coach, Thomas Walser. For all of his incredible support (and for “keeping it real” with him), Montez decided to say thank you to Mr. Walser with a gesture so kind, you’ll find it hard not to tear up when you see it.
He presented his teacher with a pair of classic Air Jordan sneakers — the kind that Walser had been pining for since he was 12 years old.
Its good to give back to the man who’s always been by my side.🤘🏼 @CoachWalser pic.twitter.com/W4Sb5tMPim

I have the biggest smile on my face right now. Good kid, good teacher. Doesn’t get better than that.
After the student’s moment of generosity went viral on Twitter, it reached staff at Nike’s world headquarters. They then sent Montez his own Air Jordans! The video below captures him unboxing the sneakers.
