For those of us who don’t live in or around deserts, it’s almost impossible to imagine the intensity and sheer scale of a real sandstorm. These things, while not as famously terrifying as tornados, can reach massive sizes and wreak their own special brand of havoc. For proof, just take a look at the video below.
It features the crew of a big rig truck somewhere in China (likely the Gobi Desert). They were transporting a large piece of machinery when they came across a massive sandstorm. Instead of driving through it or turning around, they stopped, got out, and shot some video.
I’ll agree that it looks pretty amazing, but I wouldn’t want to be out in the open when one of these things rolled in.

No word on what happened to the men after their encounter with the sandstorm. Hopefully, they made it out of there in one piece.
