This Christian Group Just Declared Another Date For Doomsday…Will You Be Ready?

If you’ve been following the news for the last few years, you’ve more than likely heard about at least one prediction from a religious group regarding the end of the world. Some of these groups were so confident in their doomsday predictions that they even put timestamps on the end of days. Of course, as evidenced by the fact that we’re still here, these predictions haven’t come to pass.

Still, that hasn’t stopped religious groups from continuing to make claims about when and how the world will end. The latest guess about the end of the world? We’ll all die on August 21, 2017.

The root of pretty much all of these doomsday predictions is the Book of Revelations in the Bible. While most level-headed people interpret these stories as being allegorical, some take the texts literally.

For example, one passage in Revelations makes mention of a woman who is “clothed in the sun with the moon at her feet.” This woman will then be hunted by a Satanic, seven-headed dragon that wants to eat her unborn child. According to Revelations, this is when the end of the world will occur.

Those interpreting Revelations believe that the woman is actually Earth, and that her doom will occur when the moon eclipses the sun.

According to NASA, the next scheduled solar eclipse will occur on August 21, 2017. It will actually be the first solar eclipse in America in almost 40 years.

As you might have guessed by now, this eclipse has Revelations literalists worried that it will bring about the end of the world.

So should we start stockpiling our doomsday bunkers now? Probably not. Again, these doomsday theorists don’t have a very good track record. I’m assuming that August 21, 2017 will be a pretty ordinary day.
