Ladies and gentlemen, I have a confession to make: I’ve never watched a single episode of “Game of Thrones” all the way through, nor do I plan to.
As diverse as my television tastes are, I’ve never been able to enjoy fantasy series. Before the haters come for me, I have at least tried to get through an episode, but five minutes was long enough for me to decide that I would never be able to get lost in that world. Belonging to quite a few fandoms myself, I can appreciate the craze. That being said, it’s just not for me.
As is the case for fans from all walks of life, the objects of our obsessions often inspire what we do and create. Redditor bgsnydermd decided to try his hand at bringing a bit of Westeros into his living room by designing a Stark-inspired table to fittingly rest atop his dog’s crate.
He began by applying a dark walnut stain to a pine tabletop.
Next, he altered the Stark crest a bit to resemble his own pup, the gorgeous German shepherd in the photo above. He turned that design into a stencil.
He used black spray paint to lay down the crest.
A few coats of polyurethane later, and the tabletop was ready for installation.
