Flies are probably my number one annoyance come summertime.

While I could load up on bug spray or arm myself with a fly swatter, setting out a little trap in trouble areas seems far more effective.

If you don’t want to look at the ugliness that are those sticky sheets, grab a water bottle, some sugar, and a banana. You can make this simple fly trap in minutes and it works wonders!

Here’s what you need (plus water).

Cut the bottle like so.

Put enough sugar in the bottle to cover the bottom.

Cut up some pieces of banana.

Put them in the water bottle.

Add enough water to cover the bananas and sugar. Stir with a knife until combined.

Remove the cap and place the top portion of the bottle in upside down.

Set your trap up and prepare to be grossed out by how well it works.

It’s so satisfyingly disgusting. I can’t wait to try this in my home! I hate running around like a crazy person trying to squash flies.
