His startled expression and pleading eyes say it all. Left stranded in a rather vulnerable position, this poor baby elephant needed urgent help after falling down an uncovered drain in Sri Lanka.
Luckily for the calf, several workers happened to be nearby and with the help of power tools and a rope, the team of Good Samaritans were able to lift the heavy pachyderm out of the hole and to safety. Believed to have broken a leg, the injured calf was then loaded onto a car and taken to an animal sanctuary to be cared for.
Thank goodness for this group of kind men who not only saw and heard that this baby needed help, but went through all the effort to save his life. They deserve a huge round of applause for all of their hard work!
