9 Everyday Things We Keep Doing Wrong

9 Everyday Things We Keep Doing Wrong

Life is full of challenges, but it’s never too late to start making your everyday existence a little bit less stressful.

To help you, FunnyModo has compiled a list of tricks that’ll make your household chores a lot easier and your pastimes more rewarding. Amazingly, the majority of people on the planet have no idea of these simple and elegant solutions!

Roll up a bag of chips

Here is a clever trick to make eating chips less awkward and messy: open the bag, and start folding it from the bottom upward as you eat, pushing the chips toward the top of the bag. This way, you won’t have to dig deep inside, thus ensuring your fingers remain clean. Moreover, folding a chips bag like this creates a makeshift bowl that can be easily placed on the table.

Hold a wineglass by the stem

You should always hold your wineglass by the stem. Clutching it by the bulb makes the wine warm up quickly.

Slicing bread without crumbs

To avoid excessive crumbs while slicing bread, follow this simple rule: place the loaf on the cutting board with the rounded side facing down.

Warm food in the drawer under the oven

Whenever you’re baking something in the oven, the drawer below it heats up as well. So if you’re preparing many dishes at once and need to keep the finished ones warm, simply place them inside the drawer.

Hold a juice carton by the flaps

A few sips out of a juice carton can leave unsightly stains on your clothes (especially true with small kids). Tell your little one that the best way to prevent juice from spilling over is to hold the carton by the folded-out upper flaps. Voila! Thirst well and truly vanquished and at no cost to your kid’s T-shirt or dress!

Put sausage on bread the right way

To make an ideal sandwich, take two large slices of sausage, cut them in half, and put all four resulting slices onto a piece of bread with straight sides facing outward. Enough to make your inner perfectionist jump with joy, isn’t it?!

Turn a glass into a makeshift speaker

While listening to music on your smartphone, putting the gadget in an empty glass will significantly increase the volume.

Hang toilet paper with the tear-off end facing forward

It’s best to hang toilet paper with the tear-off end facing away from the wall and not against the wall. There’s an ongoing dispute about this, but if it hangs in this position then it’s easier to unwind. Moreover, this way your hands won’t touch the wall, which may have harmful bacteria on it.

Apply perfume only behind your ears and on your neck

You don’t need to rub perfume onto your wrists because doing so produces heat, causing the most volatile upper notes of the fragrance to be vaporized quickly.
