If you’re married, can you remember the best wedding gift you received?
I’m betting that your favorites were of the personalized variety. There’s nothing wrong with buying items from a registry, but nothing beats someone taking the time to make something just for you and your other half. The care and effort they put in makes it really special, especially when the present is as awesome as what this guy created for his brother and sister-in-law.
Redditor zaksmith1993 wanted to give the newlyweds something they’d never forget, so he crafted an amazingly unique minibar for them…out of a jerry can. If you love transforming mundane items into seriously cool creations, you need to check this out.
Using an angle grinder, he started by cutting a large hole into a jerry can. After that, he folded the edges down.
This allowed him to attach rubber edging and hinges for the door.
The door fit perfectly and the lock would keep any unwelcome hands out (namely those belonging to little ones).
Then came the most important step: getting the bar optic in place to get the booze flowing!
After attaching wooden sections to the inside, he tested the fit and weight of the drinking supplies. Needless to say, it was a success!
To give it a classier look, he glued red felt onto the back wall.
Then he engraved the happy couple’s names onto a metal plate for an added personal touch.
How cool is that? Now they can take the party with them wherever they go!
Cheers to zaksmith1993 for making pretty much the best wedding gift ever. If you’re frantically searching for a jerry can like I am so you can recreate his masterpiece, you can find the full instructions here.
