This Guy Is Awesomely Sailing Around The World With His Pet Chicken, Monique

If you could sail around the world, who would you choose as your one companion?

Maybe it’s a spouse or a best friend, but for one 24-year-old Frenchman, he opted for a complete stranger…in the form of a young chicken.

Yes, you read that right.

While traveling through the Canary Islands, he came across a four of five-month-old hen. “She […] had never left the Canary Islands. I didn’t speak any Spanish and she didn’t speak any French, but we got along.”

Two years into their round-the-globe journey, they’ve seen and done some pretty incredible things.

Monique and Guirec stand with each other through thick and thin.

While they’ve explored and sailed in warmer climates…

Monique isn’t intimidated by cooler temps.

After all this time together, it’s understandable how they’ve grown so adorably close.

I mean, she’s basically a human at this point…

Except Guirec doesn’t have to worry about her babbling on about sea sickness.

These two have a special bond — and we’re entirely jealous of it!

We can’t wait to see where else their travels take them.
