This Ancient Computer Might Be Able To Unlock Some Amazing Secrets…

No matter how many relics we uncover or documents we decode, we will never know everything about past civilizations. We just weren’t there to experience everything.

While it’s a sad thought, it’s also a challenge many researchers take to heart. The mystery pushes them to keep digging, keep piecing parts together.

One of the biggest question marks of the artifacts we’ve uncovered from the ancient Greeks is the so-called Antikythera Mechanism…

The Antikythera Mechanism was discovered in a shipwreck near the island Crete in 1901. Since its discovery, much of the device has baffled researchers.

The prevailing theory is that the mechanism was used as a kind of primitive astronomical computer. When it was built it was probably capable of tracking and displaying the positions of the sun, moon, and planets.

While that theory hasn’t changed, new research into the device has turned up another interesting aspect: the mechanism may have been used to predict the future…

Using new technology, researchers have been studying the incredibly tiny lettering etched on the surface of the mechanism’s surviving parts.

Among the lettering are several references to the color of a future solar eclipse. While more research is of course needed to verify these initial findings, this is still an exciting development.

I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the next discovery they make about this machine is that it somehow contains the location of Atlantis.
