When WWF-Pakistan observer Amir Rahim was out patrolling about 180 nautical miles from Karachi in the Arabian Sea, he and his colleagues saw something in the water that warranted investigation. As they got closer, though, they realized that it was a matter of life and death. Caught in a polypropylene bag was an olive ridley turtle! The plastic bag was wrapped around its back and front flippers, so each time the little turtle tried to dive, it got tighter.
Rahim leapt into action and was able to remove the trash from around the turtle and release it back into the sea.
So glad to see such a beautiful creature freed from a situation it never should have encountered in the first place. Great job, guys!
