Infants raised with pups or cats tend to be healthier than those without.  Just research it. My son grew up with cats and they provided, as well, emotional comfort to him in the trying teen years.  Just supervise your kids under 5 around kittens, or adopt an adult cat.  And never give up your pet cat just because you've had a baby.
