I’ve failed a test or two in my day, but it’s never given my teachers cause for concern.
That may not be the case for this guy’s kid, though. When professor E.J. Masicampo began teaching his moral psychology class, he introduced an ethical dilemma to his students. It went a little something like this: Which route out of two should a train choose? One track has a single person lying on it, and the other has five.
Thinking it would be interesting to test this out at home, he posed the same question to his two-year-old son, Nicholas. I don’t think he was expecting this reaction.
I thought he was going to save them all. I was wrong.
It’s all fun and games now, but let’s just hope he doesn’t hold onto this worldview for much longer. Things could get ugly.
