This Football Team Did The Sweetest Thing For One Of Their Cheerleaders

For the football players at Foothill High School, it has always been instilled in them to take care of family before taking care of business on the field. And during last Friday’s game, that’s exactly what they did.

Senior cheerleader Ashley Adamietz was diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia in the beginning of August. Due to the severity of the cancer, Adamietz has undergone daily chemotherapy treatments, leaving her with very little pep in her step. Always a fighter, though, the teen has continued her schoolwork and athletic training throughout the entire process.

Her dedication to keeping the school spirit of Foothill High hadn’t gone unnoticed.

During last Friday’s game, the entire Cougars football team wanted to show Adamietz just how important she was to their family. As all 57 members of the team arrived on the field, they each laid an orange rose at her feet. Orange is the collar associated with leukemia awareness. The simple act of kindness was just a small way to let the cheerleader know that not just the team, but the whole school were cheering her on.

These teammates have hearts of gold.
