She Took A Photo Of Herself Every Day For A Year — It Ended Up Being The Worst Year Ever


Survivors of domestic violence walk among us and we may never be the wiser.

In the U.S. 20 people are abused or assaulted by their significant other every minute.

Take a second to let that sink in.

By year’s end, that equates to over 10 million men and women who have become victims of domestic violence. One in three women and one in four men have suffered a the hand of domestic violence, however women between the ages of 18 to 24 are the most at risk. While it isn’t uncommon to come in contact with a domestic violence survivor, most acts go unreported and only 34 percent of those injured from violence seek medical attention. The stigmas associated with being a domestic violence victim cause many to live out their lives in fear and embarrassment.

Domestic violence is not just an issue in the U.S., either. Serbia has an alarming number of domestic assaults each year. With an estimated 19,000 domestic violence incidents annually, many Serbians do not have the health education or the means to seek out the help they so desperately need.
