On Wednesday, October 26, an employee of the Bureau of Land Management in Alaska spotted a mysterious creature in the Chena River.
The Chena River is about 100 miles long and runs through the city of Fairbanks. It’s teeming with all sorts of wild and wonderful creatures, but residents say they’ve never seen anything like what this guy caught on camera. He was investigating the ice when something odd began swimming toward him.
At first, it appears to be a bit of driftwood…but then it starts moving.

After the video attracted attention on social media, a local news crew did a report. As you can see, they’re just as baffled as we are about this mysterious creature.
