If you’ve ever lived in a small apartment or home, you know that every square foot — no, inch — counts.
Finding innovative ways to enjoy what little space you have is crucial. And while some home decor companies cater to small living, they forget that we’re in tiny apartments for a reason…they’re more affordable and that if discounts on furniture didn’t exist – most of us would probably end up living in a cardboard box instead.
So, when Reddit user tomxorz wanted to get a space-saving table for his small balcony, he decided to make one instead of shelling out hundreds at a fancy store.
Here’s what he used to craft his snug balcony’s furniture…
Nine two-by-fours, wood screws, stain, bolts, nuts, washers, and six-inch nails.
Working from plans he found on BuildEazy, tomxorz got to work cutting each piece accordingly.
Then it was just a matter of drilling holes, screwing things together, and making sure everything fit!
The A-frames were first.
He went through stages of drilling, gluing, and screwing the pieces together.
Finally the full picture was coming together.
It’s looking like a bench, right?
Wait, but then what is this?
Okay, it’s definitely a bench!
…That folds into a picnic table!
After two coats of stain…
The finished product saves space and acts as two pieces of furniture. Genius!
