FIVE EASY EXERCISES TO GET RID OF MUFFIN TOP RIGHT AT HOME

Not everyone likes going to the gym, but with these easy at-home exercises you can finally tackle your dreaded enemy – the muffin top.

A muffin top is that little bit, or more than a bit of extra weight that hangs over the top of your pants. A certified personal trainer Matt gives you these five easy exercises to get rid of your muffin tops and keep them from ever coming back.

This is the perfect period of the year to get rid of the excess weight that hangs over the waist of your jeans. It can make you feel embarrassed, especially now when it is hot and every part of your body is more exposed.

The high plank might look familiar. Lay yourself on the floor in a push-up position. Raise yourself to a plank position, keeping your buttocks tight and your navel toward the spine. Hold the position for 15 seconds, and then lower yourself back to the floor. Give this a try ten times.

Next, try the lunge reach. Stand with your feet hip-width apart, knees slightly bent and your arms at your side. Lunge forward with your left leg, raising your arms above your head. Push off your left leg to return to the starting position. Repeat the lunge reach 16 times alternating sides.

The hands-up hop is actually a fun one. Stand with your feet hip-width apart, knees slightly bent and hands on your hips. Step forward with your left foot, raising your right knee. Hop straight up on your left leg, extending your arms overhead. Land with your feet together, hands on your hips. Repeat this 20 times, alternating sides.

With the squat jump you may really feel the burn. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, knees slightly bent and your hands by your sides. Squat then jump straight up lifting your arms overhead. Land in a squat, lowering your hands by your sides. Try it 12 times.

Last but not least is the lunge jump. Stand in a lunge position with your left leg bent and your arms overhead. Jump straight up switching your legs in mid-air so that you land in a lunge with the right leg in front. Repeat the jump 12 times for each side.
