A UPS Driver Just Saved A Woman Who Was Abused And Held Captive By Her Husband

UPS drivers see all sorts of strange things on their routes, but nothing quite like what happened to this guy in Franklin County, Missouri, last Tuesday. While picking up a package, a woman scrawled “Contact 9-1-1” on the box. He did, and what police found was shocking.

According to reports, 33-year-old James Jordan began abusing his wife on Monday evening. For 15 hours, she was held captive and separated from her three-year-old child, who was locked in a room with no food or water. Jordan held a gun to her head, beat her, and and threatened to kill her. She managed to escape once, but was dragged back inside by her hair.

Jordan is being charged with endangering the life of a child, sodomy, unlawful use of a weapon, and domestic assault. It’s terrifying to think what would have happened if the driver had ignored the note. As the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department Sergeant, T.J. Wild, told local news, “He made a huge difference.”

Had the UPS driver not seen the note or simply ignored it, the horrific abuse would have likely continued. It’s very possible that he saved not only the woman’s life, but that of her small child as well.
